When you’re running an infrared heater at full blast, that lead-wire junction becomes a total heat soak. Most cheap heaters use basic adhesives or standard heat shrink. It looks fine on the shelf, but in the real world, those materials bake. They get brittle. They crack. And once that insulation goes, you’re looking at arcing, oxidation, and a tripped breaker right in the middle of a project. The weak link. That’s exactly what we see with those low-end OEM units. The spot where the heating element meets the electrical lead is where everything falls apart. The plastic cladding basically fries, which lets in moisture and workshop dust. It doesn’t take much. We spent a lot of time getting the viscosity just right so it stays airtight for thousands of hours. The catch. Look, this adds time to the assembly. It costs more to make. That’s why you won’t find this on the budget-tier stuff. But the trade-off is worth it.
