If you’ve ever tried to keep a factory floor warm when the ceilings are 10 meters high, you know it’s a losing battle. Traditional heaters just push hot air up, and that’s exactly where it stays—stuck at the roof while you’re shivering on the ground. That’s why we stick with infrared radiators. Instead of fighting the air, they beam heat directly onto people and equipment. It’s like standing in the sun on a crisp autumn day. You feel the warmth instantly, and the empty air in between doesn’t matter. How we make it “smart” Walking around flipping manual switches is a pain. We prefer to hook these heaters up to smart relays or PLC modules. The result? You get a “one-touch” start from your phone or a simple timer. You hit a button, and the lamps are at full blast in seconds. No waiting for a boiler to chug along or for air to slowly circulate. It just happens. The gear you actually need You can’t just plug these into a standard smart plug and call it a day. Industrial radiators pull a lot of power, and if you use the wrong gear, you’ll fry your hardware. We use heavy-duty contactors (usually Zigbee or Wi-Fi enabled) that can handle the wattage without breaking a sweat. One more thing: we put the temperature sensors where the people are, not up by the rafters. This creates a simple loop. Once the workspace hits the right temperature, the system kills the power. Simple. A few things to watch out for It’s not all magic; there are some trade-offs. Because these things hit hard and fast, they create a massive electrical spike the moment they turn on. If you flip twenty radiators on at the exact same second, you’re probably going to trip a breaker. To fix this, we program a staggered start. The heaters kick in one by one to keep your electrical panel happy. Also, keep in mind that IR is line-of-sight. If you stack a giant pallet of goods right under a heater, whatever is behind that pallet is going to stay cold. You have to think about where your stuff sits.
