We built this electric blow heater for one reason: to heat PET preforms fast enough to keep your cycle times on target. The 2500W rating at 400V isn’t random. It’s the kind of power density you need to push the glass transition temperature in seconds, not minutes. And the 300mm active length? That gives you a tight, repeatable heat zone that lines up with standard preform lengths. So the heat lands where it should—on the preform—and doesn’t get wasted on the neck finish.
Built to Take the Heat, and Keep Going
The tube is quartz, because it can handle high temperatures and responds quickly. Inside, the halogen fill helps keep the filament temperature steady, so you get consistent output even after thousands of cycles. A reflective coating sends infrared energy forward, so more watts hit the preform instead of drifting into the machine frame. And the R7s connector? It’s practical. It locks in fast, carries the current safely, and makes the lamp a simple drop-in replacement when it’s time to service the machine.
What It Feels Like on the Floor
In PET blowing, the heater has to deliver serious heat flux in a small footprint. This setup does exactly that. But here’s the trade-off you should know: 2500W creates a lot of local heat. That means your blower and cooling path have to be properly sized. If you run it without enough airflow, you’ll shorten the life of the components. When the machine is designed around it, the lamp heats predictably, keeps output stable, and gives you a service interval that fits real production schedules.
